Hey maybe a crab pizza recipe will help both the crab and pizza industries!

Our recipe contribution:
We decided to switch ingredients; substitute crab with pepperoni in Great Scott’s Pepperoni pizza recipe and go with a traditional crust shape vs the heart shape.

Ingredients:
1 individual Boboli Pizza crust, which is pre-made, serves up to 4 people and costs only $4.39
1 jar (26 ounces) Classico marinara Tomato sauce — $2.99 (you only need 13 ounces for 1 pizza)
* Experiment with a white sauce and submit your ideas by comment.

1 16 ounce whole Mozzarella — $3.99 ( 8 ounces for 1 pizza)
8 ounces Chopped Crab Meat – $market ( 2 ounces for 1 pizza)

Method:
Spread the sauce over the pre-made pizza shell
Slice the mozzarella and arrange pieces on the pizza
Arrange crab meat on the pizza
Bake in a pre-heated oven (375 degrees) for 12 minutes and serve immediately

A few highlights we appreciated:

  • Pizza ovens have a stone bottom and heat to 500 degrees
  • The stone bottom helps make the bottom crunchy
  • A little oil also helps out making the crust crunchy
  • Cook the sauce long enough to ‘reduce’ the water out of the tomatoes
